Central Queensland University

The MBA at CQU has been specifically renewed to meet the needs of businesses by focusing on key capabilities that enhance manager and leader effectiveness. Using key international and Australian research, we have developed a course that provides a balance between the tradition “hard skills” of management such as accounting, finance, marketing and strategy, with the “soft or interpersonal skills” such as leadership, communication, ethics, and emotional intelligence.

The MBA at CQU is delivered in a way that recognises the hectic and changing work commitments of practicing managers. Our classes are offered as evening seminars, weekend workshops and intensives with the option of studying in Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney at one of our CBD campuses, or through our online delivery.

By offering the MBA over three terms per year, the full 12 month calendar can be used for students to fast track their studies or to adjust their learning schedules to reflect work and personal commitments.

The importance of managing in a global context is a key theme in the MBA with International study tours, exchange options and through CQU seeking new and emerging University partnerships with some of the top Business Schools in Asia and further afield.

An MBA needs to not only deliver relevant content it also must be recognized as a quality program. The program has been designed to meet the requirements of the international Association of MBAs (AMBA) and the School is progressing through the AMBA accreditation process. Arguably, AMBA is the most rigorous, focused and widely recognised of all the international accreditation systems. Furthermore the MBA is seeking recognition of its commitment to responsible and ethical practice through alignment with the United Nations Principles of Responsible Management Education.
