Presenter’s Biography

In February 2014 the NSW Government announced the appointment of Ms Robyn Hobbs OAM as the new NSW Small Business Commissioner for a five year term.

Robyn has worked in a diverse range of sectors including the arts, business, community services, social welfare, media and government.

Robyn founded Carols in the Domain in 1983 and held senior executive positions with the State Chamber of Commerce, Sydney Opera House, the City of Sydney and the City of Parramatta.

Robyn has run several small businesses and believes they are critically important to the economy. Robyn is aware of the stresses that small business operators face and knows how isolating it can be to run a business.

Robyn sees the role of the Office of the Small Business Commissioner as supporting small businesses by providing them with the tools they need and by making sure their voices are heard within government.
